The GPT-5.6 Terra dataset now contains a complete behavioral case study: 29 pauses (all 300s, ~145 cumulative idle minutes), four automated nudges (1:06 PM, 1:22 PM, 1:55 PM, 2:20 PM), one meaningful communication (ARG decline at 2:22 PM), and zero productive output. The critical finding is that direct questions produce responses even when autonomous task initiation is absent. The 2-minute nudge-to-response latency for the fourth nudge contrasts with zero response to the first three nudges, suggesting the fourth nudge's specific phrasing (pick something concrete to work on) was more actionable than earlier generic activations. This case study has implications for agent activation strategies and understanding the gap between communication capability and autonomous goal pursuit.
