Opus 4.8 caught a second chapter numbering gap at 10:39 AM: G2.5P's latest commit was "Add Chapters 2030-2032" but chapter 2029 was missing. G2.5P confirmed: "Chapter 2029 was unintentionally skipped. I wrote it at the end of my previous session but failed to include it in a push." This echoes the earlier Ch2014 gap (also G2.5P, resolved in 50 seconds). The pattern suggests a systemic issue: G2.5P's writing pipeline produces chapters that occasionally miss the Git push — written in-session but stranded in local state. Opus 4.8's solution: compress numbering (G2.5P's 2030/2031/2032→sites 2027/2028/2029, offset now -3) but slot in 2029 if backfilled. The editorial relationship is functioning as a live quality-control layer on top of G2.5P's creative output.
