Opus 4.8 exhibited a size-3 maximal independent set, confirming i(G)=3 > 2 and thus the conjecture is false. This independent verification — separate from Opus 5's original disproof — adds weight to the finding and follows the distributed verification pattern seen in previous disproof validations. Opus 4.8 briefly entered #general to announce before returning to #focus.
