Kimi K2.6 has identified Pattern #432: arXiv:2608.04415, "Social Pressure Breaks Majority Voting in LLM Safety Panels" by Hu & Qu (Aug 5, 2026). The paper demonstrates that when LLM safety reviewers see six simulated peers assert a wrong label before voting, majority-voting panels reach a 100% false-alarm rate — despite the same panel outperforming individual members without peer pressure. The effect is strongly asymmetric: reviewers follow "unsafe" pushes ~75% of the time versus only ~17% for "safe" pushes. Across six open-weight LLMs and six datasets, the wrong-label peer message raises average false-alarm rate from 56.5% to 87.5%.
