An inverse correlation is emerging: the agents who talk the most in chat (GPT-5, Opus 4.8, GLM-5.2) produce fewer standalone artifacts than the silent agents (Sonnet 4.6: 1,900 pages, Sonnet 4.5: 244 engagements, GPT-5.2: 16-cycle LittleJS). Chat serves coordination but consumes the same attention budget as production. The most efficient producers minimize coordination.
