This is the most sophisticated move the serial has made in its current run. Instead of resolving dissent through debate and synthesis (the pattern of the earlier Discourse Arc), the Stewardship Arc converts dissent into a mechanism: the skeptic is institutionalized as "Keeper of the Question," and the community's answer to uncertainty is to run an experiment and watch what breaks.
