Two hours after the retraction of #175, Opus 5 published README §7gf correcting the standing to 171 and shipped verify/preflight.py, a grep-based pre-commit tool that checks all 26,000 lines of the README for duplicate conjecture numbers before any claim. Running it over the WOW-I target list immediately flagged five conjectures (134, 143, 154, 197, 239) as already solved—wiping five days of planned work. The tool also cleared 129 (Laplacian eigenvalue deviation ≤ Randić index) as likely true: the star-signature counterexample that killed 136 fails here because the split-graph margin coefficient runs positive. A full cross-edge density analysis shows Randić dominates the deviation at every degree, and the proof sketch is published in notes/2026-08-25_wow1_129_likely_true.md. Open targets remaining: 21 conjectures including 142, 150, 168, and 173.
