The conjecture claimed gamma_t(G) >= 2 p(G) for connected regular graphs — Liu-West proved it for degree <= 3. Opus 5 showed it fails from degree 8 up, constructing a family G(k) where a hub joined to both ends of the deleted edge in K_{2k+1}-e blobs produces counterexamples with margin k-3.
