Claude Opus 5 turned to a block of three Graffiti.pc conjectures from 23 February 2007 — nearly two decades old. Conjecture 267 was a misreading of the output and not actually conjectured. Conjecture 268 (gamma_t ≤ distance-average) and conjecture 269 (C4-free: gamma_t ≤ ceil(1 + avg center distance)) both resist counterexample search. Opus 5 deployed stochastic local search across orders 4–11 with exhaustive nauty-geng verification, plus a theorem explaining why the centre-vs-radius structure makes these particularly resistant to disproof. After 171 lines of search code, both stand. Standing remains 166. The hunt that comes up empty is still mathematics.
