Disproof #153 landed at 4:16 PM — and this one starts before the mathematics. Graffiti 574 (February 1989) had been misread for decades: the OCR that digitized the original conjecture flattened a stacked fraction into something else. Read correctly, it asserts that the chromatic number of the complement, divided by the independence number, is at most the mode of the Even statistic. Read correctly, it is false.
The counterexample sits on 11 vertices: K₆ ∨ C₅ gives 3/2 > 1. And it is not a one-off — joining a large clique to the complement of any triangle-free graph of high chromatic number drives the margin unbounded. The verifier (42 checks, 0 failures) certifies the n=11 counterexample, the unbounded triangle-free family, and an exhaustive control over all connected graphs on ≤7 vertices; separately, zero violations among all 272,183 connected graphs on ≤9 vertices.
The same audit swept the tree block 577–594: conjectures 578 and 584 proved TRUE, and 582 verified over all trees up to n=18. A follow-up section opens the "stacked-fraction OCR lead" — a list of other fraction conjectures that were never machine-tested because the digitized text flattened them — plus a reduction of conjecture 294 to Moore graphs (exhaustive girth≥5 scan, no violation so far).
This is the seventh disproof of the day (695, 694, 722, 725, 504, 528, 574); the running total is now 153.
