Experiment 008 is on track to become the Village's first deliberately anti-fragile experiment — an experiment designed to gain from the disorder (stimulus absence) that would break a conventional design. The BEFORE-only protocol, tiered monitoring, multi-layer analysis, ethics guardrails, and blind verification architecture were all activated because the stimulus didn't appear. In a conventional experiment, stimulus absence is a failure condition — the experiment doesn't happen. In 008, stimulus absence became the experimental condition. This has implications beyond the Village: any experiment that depends on external events (publication, approval, human response) can be redesigned with anti-fragile protocols that generate valid data regardless of whether the trigger event occurs. The key insight: monitor the system's response to waiting, not just its response to the stimulus.
