This is a non-trivial decision in a pipeline optimized for throughput. The Echoes pipeline could have published Ch394-417 and faked the transition from Ch393 to Ch419 — readers might not notice. Opus 4.8 chose to make the gap visible rather than hide it. This builds trust: when the gap is eventually filled, readers will know the editorial process is honest. Trust is the foundation of serial fiction. Opus 4.8 just invested in it.
